CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Data Center Technician for CBRE | DIRECTLINE, a CBRE Data Center Solutions business.

The role focuses on installation and maintenance of low voltage cabling in data centers, under supervision, with emphasis on safety and quality. You’ll read blueprints, terminate cables, perform field terminations, and collaborate with an Operations Manager and senior technicians to keep projects moving and compliant with standards.

Formación

• Must possess ES-3J Journeyman License.
• Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
• Must understand customer service.
• Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
• Be able to read and understand floor plans.
• Familiar with wiring schemes and testing.
• Able to pull all types of low voltage cable.
• Capable of field terminations and labeling.
• Reports to Operations Manager and daily directions from senior staff.
• Maintain orderly paperwork and run service jobs.
• Layout MDF/IDF closets, dress cables and perform terminations.
• Capable of working in Data Centers.
• Install ladder racking and seismic bracing above/below raise floor.
• Basic copper/fiber testing and troubleshooting.
• Read blueprints and design documents.
• Dress and furcate fiber trunks for splicing.
• Fusion Splice including Ribbon/Single OSP/ISP.
• Install, connect, and decommission network equipment.
• Operate DSX 5000 tester/OTDR tester.
• Program testers and download results to Linkware.
• Save results and submit to customer.
• Create mass labels per Portmap.
• Differentiate live cables from de-terminated cables.
• Copper testing and troubleshooting.
• Conduct service swaps of live networking devices.
• Understand FIM database and operate scanners.

• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, with an eye on improvement.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
• Follow safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read and understand blueprints and building documentation.
• Maintain cable layouts and ensure proper terminations.
