Job summary

Astrion seeks a Journeyman Cybersecurity Analyst to support Space Force programs from El Segundo, CA. The role requires a TS with SCI eligibility and 5+ years in cyber integration, with responsibilities spanning CMMI activities, IA security controls, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CMMI/CMI activities.
• Ensure DoD 8570 compliance for supported systems/users.
• Support development, documentation, and validation of IA security controls.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, security assessments, and risk analyses to leadership.
• Develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for RIGs to cyber security infrastructure.
• Derive Design Reference Missions (DRMs).
• Prepare and deliver driving requirements.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity fora Cybersecurity Engineer to support systems engineering and integration of Space Force projects for the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO), Space Systems Command (SSC)on a variety of tasks and projects located at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in STEM related field (preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity)
• 5+ years demonstrated experience in cyber integration and defense cyber security
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel); adaptable to new analytical tools
• Experience with Jira/Confluence for managing tasks, review workflow, task delegation and collaborative documentation in a digital engineering environment
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex tasks in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to travel as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Master of Science in STEM related field (preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity)
• Familiarity with Joint Pubs, specifically JP 3-12, and the Joint Planning Process
• Experience with ITIPS, eMASS, Xacta, and vulnerability management tools
• Working knowledge of 8570 compliance requirements
• Security+ certification (baseline requirement under DoD 8570)
• CySA+ and/or CSSP certification
• SETA experience with Cyber Enabled Space Ops (military, contractor, or DoD civilian)
• Familiarity with the DoD acquisition lifecycle
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern software engineering principles

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) / CMI activities
• Ensure DoD 8570 compliance requirements are satisfied for supported systems/users
• Support development, documentation, and validation of IA security controls

• Develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for Risk, Issues and Gaps (RIGs) to cyber security infrastructure
