Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager in leading salon operations while providing expert-level hair services. This position is ideal for an ambitious stylist passionate about hands-on work and team leadership. You will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality standards, mentoring team members, and ensuring salon-wide goals are achieved. As Assistant Manager, you’ll receive mentorship from the salon General Manager to develop your management skills and grow in your career.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership and Support:
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing scheduling, inventory management, and daily salon operations.
  • Act as the manager on duty on the GM’s days off, serving as the primary point of contact for staff and clients.
  • Ensure the salon environment remains professional, clean, and welcoming for clients and employees alike.
• Client Services and Expertise:
  • Perform expert-level hair services, including blowouts, hair extensions, coloring, and styling, while earning tips directly from clients.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality control by ensuring all services meet salon expectations.
  • Address client concerns professionally and ensure every client leaves satisfied with their service.
• Education, Training, and Quality Control:
  • Train and mentor team members on advanced hair techniques, emerging trends, and exceptional customer service.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to newer stylists, ensuring consistency and excellence in service delivery.
  • Evaluate and check team members' work to maintain salon quality standards and implement feedback where needed.
  • Support staff in achieving certifications through in-house training programs.
• Performance Goals and Metrics:
  • Work to achieve individual service and sales goals while supporting salon-wide goals, such as rebooking rates, retail product sales, and client retention metrics, to qualify for performance bonuses.
• Team Culture and Mentorship:
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and growth-focused work environment.
  • Act as a mentor for team members, inspiring confidence and professionalism in their roles.
• Compliance and Inventory Management:
  • Ensure team compliance with licensing standards and salon policies.
  • Assist with inventory control and supply ordering, ensuring all tools, products, and materials are readily available.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Valid cosmetology license: Required.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a salon.
• Expertise in blowouts and hair extensions, with strong coloring and styling skills.
• Experience in educating and mentoring team members is a plus.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• A passion for elevating client experiences and mentoring team members.
• Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving performance metrics.
