Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
• Journeyman status accepted by union.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Work visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment by inspecting and testing systems—chillers, rooftop units, AHUs, and more.
• Repair and replace defective components or wiring.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
• Perform diagnostics, pipefitting, and brazing on commercial HVAC systems.
• Conduct warranty service inspections and verify functionality.
• Educate customers on proper use, maintenance schedules, and manuals.
• Lead apprentices through rebuilds and retrofits of commercial units.
• Record billing, inventory, timecards, and related reports.
• Download programs into equipment and analyze chiller trend data.
• Participate in regional training and off-site learning modules.
• Maintain required certifications and develop new skills.
• Uphold safety standards and keep a clean work area.
• Complete jobsite hazard assessments before service and follow safety policies.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including but not limited to chillers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform intermediate and advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment
• Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of all commercial HVAC equipment
• Educate technical and non‑technical customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual usage
• Lead and participate in the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC level units including the direction of apprentice level technicians through hands‑on demonstration of the necessary steps
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Download programs into commercial HVAC equipment and Micro controllers and analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, and off‑site learning modules
• Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines

Your Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Accepted as Journeyman by the union
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The minimum expected hourly rate for this position is $40.17 in SD. The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
