Job summary

Diamond Coring Company is hiring a Joint Sealing Technician in Chicago, IL, to prepare streets for sealing applications. The role involves filling and operating asphalt kettles and pavement maintenance. Good communication skills and a valid driver's license (Class A or B preferred) are essential. Job description

The Joint Sealing Technician will be responsible for preparing streets for joint sealing applications. Laborers will conduct different tasks to ensure the job will be completed and falls within the concrete pavement restoration industry. This role will be based out of our Chicago, IL 60617 location.

Responsibilities
  • Fills, fires, and operates asphalt kettles. Spreads salt, sand, gravel, and asphalt.
  • Fills pavement cracks and joints.
  • Walk at fast pace constantly throughout the day on hard surfaces.
  • Communicate continuously with other employees to assure safety of all within work zones.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of construction equipment and supplies.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading of traffic control and other construction equipment.
  • Complete timesheets in a timely manner assuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Qualified individuals will drive class A or B vehicles.
  • Responsible for maintaining professional relationships with public and establishing ongoing good public relations.
Qualifications
  • Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal, in order to interact with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Have a current driver's license in good standing (Class A or B preferred).
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communications skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to company goals.
  • Must be capable of functioning under fast paced stressful working conditions within live traffic.
  • 1 year experience is preferred but willing to train the right individual.
