Overview
As a PACU Registered Nurse at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, you will provide immediate post‑operative care for surgical patients. Key duties include managing airway support, monitoring neurological and cardiac status, delivering wound care, and collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams. The position requires on‑call availability during selected non‑business hours.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while managing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care independently.
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes and care provided in detail.
- Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
- Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to respond promptly to complications or side effects.
- Participate in unit rounding and interdisciplinary meetings to share patient care suggestions.
- Support a respectful, collaborative team culture and assist with staffing needs as required.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree, RN Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- At least 1 year of critical‑care experience (ICU, ER, or PACU) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Ability to meet on‑call and shift requirements.
