Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide immediate post-operative care for surgical patients. You will manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, and deliver wound care while collaborating with surgical and anesthesia teams.

On‑call availability during selected non-business hours is required. The role emphasizes patient education, documentation, and contributing to a respectful, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of critical-care experience (ICU, ER, or PACU).
• ACLS certification within 60 days of start date and BCLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver post-operative, patient-centered care and monitor recovery.
• Manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, and provide wound care.
• Document changes and care provided during shift and educate families.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for complications or side effects.
• Participate in unit rounds and interdisciplinary meetings; support staffing as needed.

Overview

As a PACU Registered Nurse at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, you will provide immediate post‑operative care for surgical patients. Key duties include managing airway support, monitoring neurological and cardiac status, delivering wound care, and collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams. The position requires on‑call availability during selected non‑business hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while managing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care independently.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes and care provided in detail.
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
• Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to respond promptly to complications or side effects.
• Participate in unit rounding and interdisciplinary meetings to share patient care suggestions.
• Support a respectful, collaborative team culture and assist with staffing needs as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree, RN Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• At least 1 year of critical‑care experience (ICU, ER, or PACU) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• Ability to meet on‑call and shift requirements.
