Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Joint Fires Network Engineer for a Federal Program at Scott Air Force Base. You will execute network operations, configure circuits, and analyze multiplexers, routers, and switches to ensure mission readiness.

The role requires DoD Top Secret clearance, DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification, and a strong background in IP/Transport networks, with real-time outage management and cross-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years of experience.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification prior to start date.
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 shift environment.
• Deep understanding of Transport and IP network topologies.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Experience with telco NOC and vendor actions.
• Proficiency with SolarWinds and JIRA tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations including configuration/analysis of circuits across optical/electro-optical muxes, routers, and switches.
• Perform real-time circuit redesign to restore connectivity during outages.
• Collaborate with customers and agencies to maximize network availability.
• Monitor network alarms using platform management tools.
• Perform change management: hardware replacements and software configurations.
• Document outages and resolutions in incident management systems.
• Assess incidents and propose resolutions leveraging router, switch, and transport knowledge.
