Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Joint Exercise Logistics and Sustainment Planner to support USPACOM J4/J7, based at Camp Smith, Honolulu, HI. The role focuses on planning, resourcing, and executing logistics for CPX/FTX using the JELC process.

The position requires extensive experience with joint operations, JPME Phase I, and coordinating sustainment across multiple staffs, with up to 20% international travel anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at least 10+ years' relevant experience, or 14+ years in lieu of degree.
• JPME Phase I completed; 2 years on joint HQ allowed in lieu of JPME Phase I.
• Strong knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
• Experience with JLVC federation of simulations is a plus.

SAIC is currently seeking a Joint Exercise Logistics and Sustainment Planner located at Camp Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii to support USPACOM J4 & J7. This position enables the effective planning resourcing, and execution of logistics, movement, and sustainment activities in support of PACOM Command-Post Exercises (CPX) and Field Training Exercises (FTX) leveraging the Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning process.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Ensure unified action within USPACOM, with Allies and with supporting organizations in theplanning and execution of Joint Exercises such as VALIANT SHIELD, KEEN EDGE, and COBRA GOLD.
• Develop logistics-focused planning milestones, sustainment concepts, support requirements, and scenario injects for all JELC milestones, ensuring alignment with theater logistics priorities and J4 guidance.
• Coordinate and synchronize joint logistics functions including supply, maintenance, transportation, engineering, health services, distribution, and others reflecting real-world theater sustainment challenges.
• Perform Sustainment Work Group and Response Cell functions for the Exercise Control Group (ECG) during exercise execution.This includes management of logistics injects, sustainment reporting work flows, and model and simulation support to sustainment command systems.
• Ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support the ECG with proper personnel during planning and executionleveragingthe Joint Manning Document (JMD) process.
• Ensure coordination with staff and other organizations to support CPX with proper facilities and equipment to enable achievement of exerciseobjectives.
• Develop, implement, andmaintainefficient protocols, processes, and procedures in support of exercise planning and execution including authoring exercise directives (PLANORD/EXORD) and Exercise Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Lead exercise work group planning meetings with all stakeholders and In-Progress Reviews (IPRs) with senior leaders.
• Maintainappropriate OPSECconditions at multiple levels of classification while working with military, civilian, contractor, and foreign allied personnel.
• Maintain associated J4 exercise information data sites and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to designated exercises.
• Leverageappropriate toolsin support of the JELC such as Task Management System (TMS), Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), Joint Training Tool (JTT) and other related databases or systems.
• International travel up to 20% of the year may be requiredto support the planning and execution of designated exercises.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelorsandten (10)+years’of relevant experience;additionalfour (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I complete; two (2) years of experience on a joint operational/strategic headquarters staff accepted in lieu of JPME Phase I.
• Thorough knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and associated requirements to plan and execute Command-Post Exercises (CPX).
• Understanding of the computer simulation requirements to support a CPX with prior experience the Joint Live Virtual and Constructive (JLVC) federation of simulations.
• Proven experience in an operations management role with oversight of projects and maintenance of timelines which require ability to work independently without direct oversight on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience in operations planning with US Armed Services, including jointassignmentsand working with Allies and Partner countries.
• Must understand and have experience with the Joint planning Process (JPP) or equivalent military planning process.
• Excel at communication withdemonstratedability to interact with senior government leadership to effectively communicate complex ideas and systems.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

• Must have an Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Must be a current US Citizen.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
