Job summary

Class Produce Group in Jessup, MD is seeking a full-time Driver to move trailers between buildings and yards. The role requires a Class A CDL and safe, DOT-compliant driving in a warehouse setting.

You will inspect equipment daily, fuel and load/unload trucks, monitor trailer temperatures, and assist with repairs and paperwork. Local deliveries may occur; hours are typically 10am–6pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; read and write English.
• Two or more years’ experience driving a truck.
• Must be able to read and understand basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Drives trucks in a safe manner and in compliance with D.O.T. regulations.
• Move trucks in the Class Produce and TGD yard as needed.
• Fuel all trucks and trailers as needed.
• Inspects equipment daily to ensure safe operation.
• Assist drivers and dispatch when trucks need repair at Ryder.
• Opens and closes trailer doors.
• Monitors temperature on trailers.
• Pulls trailer from TGD and stages when needed.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Maintains good working knowledge of the product.
• Occasionally local deliveries to make.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drives trucks in a safe manner and in compliance with D.O.T. regulations.


• Driver will move trucks in the Class Produce and TGD yard as needed.


• Will fuel all trucks and trailers as needed.


• Inspects equipment daily to ensure that it remains in safe and efficient working order.


• Assist drivers and dispatch when trucks need to be taken to Ryder for repair.


• Opens and closes trailer doors.


• Monitors temperature on trailers.


• Pulls trailer from TGD and stage when needed.


• Loads and unloads trucks.


• Maintains good working knowledge of the product.


• At times may have local, short deliveries to make.


• Completes required paperwork


• Performs other duties as assigned

Monday - Friday: 10am - 6pm

Tuesday - Friday: 6am - 2pm; Saturday: 8am - Until Finished

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to display basic arithmetic skills. Two or more years’ experience driving a truck.

TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES:

Class A Commercial Driver’s License required. 1 year of experience working in a warehouse, Electric Pallet Jack experience and/or Produce experience is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, rotate or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
