Capital Search Group is assisting a rapidly growing renewable energy company in Washington, DC to hire a Tax Director to build and lead its internal tax function. The role covers federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning, managing outside advisors, and ASC 740 tax provision and deferred tax.

Responsibilities include renewable energy tax incentives, partnership and tax equity structures, and supporting new projects and investments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant tax experience in tax compliance and planning.
• 2-3 years of managerial experience.
• CPA/MST and HLBV experience are pluses.

Our client, a rapidly growing renewable energy company in Washington, DC is seeking a Tax Director to build and lead its internal tax function. Responsibilities include federal, state and local tax compliance and planning, management of outside tax advisors, ASC 740 tax provision and deferred tax, renewable energy tax incentives, partnership and tax equity structures, and supporting new projects and investments. MUST have7+ years of relevant tax experience in tax compliance and planning, including 2-3 years at managerial level. Strong ownership and hands‑on mindset, renewable energy exposure and strong partnership/tax equity or ASC 740 experience are highly valued; CPA/MST and HLBV experience are pluses. The ideal candidate is technically strong, hands‑on, entrepreneurial and comfortable operating independently while partnering with Finance, Accounting, Legal and senior management. The role is in office 5 days and compensation is $170-200k + bonus + options.
