Job summary

Champion AC of Austin is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems. You will communicate with customers, document service details, and ensure work meets safety and code standards.

The role requires EPA Type II/Universal certification, 3–5 years of HVAC service experience, and sales exposure. A valid license and clean driving record are mandatory; on-call availability is expected.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC service technician.
• 3-4 years of HVAC Sales experience.
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems.
• Communicate issues, proposed solutions, and service details to customers.
• Ensure work complies with industry standards and local codes.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided.

Champion AC of Austin is seeking an experienced and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and/or light commercial heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and a passion for helping customers stay comfortable year-round.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, proposed solutions, and service details
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and local codes
• Maintain accurate records of services provided using company software or service tickets
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance tips, and energy efficiency options
• Collaborate with dispatch, sales, and installation teams as needed
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC service technician
• 3-4 years of HVAC Sales experience
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (attics, crawlspaces, outdoors, etc.)
• Availability for rotating on-call shifts and emergency service as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• HVAC Trade School diploma or equivalent
• NATE Certification a plus
• Experience with smart thermostats and high-efficiency systems
