Job summary

Astraccorp is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team. You will work on core Java applications with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RDBMS technologies (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

The role requires strong analytical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Java, Spring Framework, and web services, along with a solid understanding of design patterns and security concepts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java/J2EE and related tech.
• Experience with Angular 17, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• REST/SOAP Webservices with JSON/XML.
• PostgreSQL and other RDBMS; Hibernate/Maven/JPA.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all stages of the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment.
• Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders on designs.
• Develop and implement critical components and POCs for new business requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Mentor and coach junior developers and document designs with writers.
• Write and review design documentation with technical writers.
• Perform Git-based source control operations (branching, merging, tagging, conflict resolution).
• Research emerging technologies to improve systems and architecture.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and enterprise protocols.
• Participate in process improvements and knowledge sharing.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and RDBMS technologies (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL). This role requires strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all stages of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, estimation, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate closely with Project Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to create high‑level and low‑level technical designs.
• Develop and implement critical components and proof‑of‑concepts for new or complex business requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Write and review design documentation in coordination with technical writers.
• Perform source control operations including branching, merging, tagging, and conflict resolution using Git or equivalent tools.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to improve existing systems and architecture.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and intellectual property protection.
• Participate in process improvement and knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience withCore Java,Spring Framework (MVC, IOC, AOP),Hibernate,JSP,JPA, and application servers such asJBossorWebLogic.
• Expertise inSQLandRDBMS(MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience developing and consumingWeb Services(JSON, SOAP) and working withXML.

• Strong logical and analytical problem‑solving skills with solid design capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills—able to articulate ideas clearly in both written and verbal English.
• Knowledge ofDesign PatternsandSecurity concepts such as authentication, authorization, and confidentiality, along with related enterprise protocols.

Additional / Desirable Capabilities

• Experience working inMobileorPaymentsapplication domains.
