Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is seeking a Job Exploration Specialist at our South County Career Center to support individuals seeking employment. This hourly full-time role requires travel around 25% and pays $20.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include conducting intake interviews, developing D&E plans, maintaining caseloads, coordinating with referral sources, documenting activities, and producing final reports with next steps.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in social work, psychology, or related field.
• 2 years of experience working in social services required.
• Driver's license and current insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate feedback from participants and support persons for D&E recommendations.
• Write final reports with employment next steps recommendations.
• Maintain average of 3+ new starts per month.
• Maintain minimum of 90% of participants completing assessment.

Qualifications

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform timely intake interview and develop Discovery and Exploration (D&E) Plan.
• Maintain case load size that is both programmatic and fiscally appropriate and ensures that D&E services are completed in a timely manner meeting agency expectation (average of 6-10 weeks depending on program).
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with referral sources and internal team and provides ongoing communication regarding participant activities.
  Utilize referral information, intake information, job history, local employment market, career exploration tools to plan activities to identify strengths and support needs related to job interests.
• Complete all agency documentation in a timely manner and maintain confidentiality according to agency guidelines.
• Completes community exploration activities with participants to analyze areas such as learning style, work pace, prompts and reminders needed, communication style, interest in work being performed, comfort in work environment, accommodations needed, etc.
• Actively work with participants and relevant support persons to obtain and incorporate feedback related to D&E recommendations, including life skill needs and social supports.
• Writes thorough final reports with recommendations for employment next steps.
• Maintain average of 3+ new starts each month.
• Maintain minimum of 90% of participants completing assessment.
• Other duties as assigned.
