Vector Consulting Group is seeking a Cerner Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on cerner back-end support, domain refresh activities, and mentorship of junior engineers within a complex healthcare IT environment.

The position requires strong Cerner architecture knowledge, Windows Server and Linux proficiency, Citrix experience, and excellent communication. Contract-based engagement with competitive benefits and 30–35 weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of systems engineering experience in large, complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of Oracle Health / Cerner architecture and data model.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Networking concepts and troubleshooting skills required.
• Experience with Linux/RHEL; LP I certification is a plus.
• Understanding of Cerner/C CL and discern rules.
• Experience with Citrix environments.
• Experience with Oracle Database administration and WebSphere configuration.
• Strong SDLC understanding and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide and update required documentation for the Cerner environment.
• Mentor Junior System Engineers and communicate with team and leadership.
• Perform Domain Refresh with or without data scramble as needed.
• Provide back-end Cerner support for production and non-production environments.
• Assist deployment, environment, and security management tasks.
• Support Thick Client installation, Citrix, and related Cerner components.
• Monitor system performance and participate in disaster recovery planning.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Information Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering within large, complex organizations
• Strong understanding of the Oracle Health / Cerner architecture and data model
• Strong understanding of core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server and Active Directory
• Understanding of core networking concepts and troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of Linux/RHEL (LPI certification an asset)
• Understanding of CCL and discern rules
• Understanding of Citrix environments
• Understanding of Oracle Database administration and WebSphere Application Server configuration
• Strong understanding of systems development life cycle
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
