Job summary

Eckerd Connects seeks a Center Director for a Job Corps training center in Monroe, VA. You will lead programs, staff, and student training to meet objectives, while maintaining safety and high performance standards.

You will build community partnerships, report to the Regional Director, ensure regulatory compliance and 100% OBS outcomes. The role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years' experience in Program Management and direction; experience working with youth.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Must pass a drug screen per policy.
  • Employment contingent on nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Center Director reports to the Regional Director of Operations and is a salaried, exempt position.
  • Plans, organizes, administers, and controls the programs and activities necessary to operate and meet objectives of a Job Corps training center.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of an efficient and effective student training program.
  • Center meeting established goals and 100% OBS.
  • Builds relationships with community leaders and social, religious, civic, and service organizations; serves on workforce investment boards and youth councils.
  • Fosters an atmosphere that encourages high employee morale and retention and high standards of performance.
  • Provides necessary reports for the Department of Labor and corporate headquarters.
  • Keeps the Regional Director informed on matters requiring attention.
  • Responsible for safe operation of the center and student safety.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Center Director reports to the Regional Director of Operations and is a salaried, exempt position.
  • The Center Director plans, organizes, administers, and controls the programs and activities necessary to effectively operate and meet the objectives of a Job Corps training center. These objectives are to prepare young, disadvantaged youth for useful employment by providing comprehensive residential training, educational and vocational training, and positive paths through personal example, understanding, and patience by a combined effort of all staff.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of an efficient and effective student training program.
  • Responsible for the center meeting established goals and objectives and maintaining 100% OBS.
  • The Center Director builds a continuing relationship with community leaders and social, religious, civic, and service organizations. Serves on state and local workforce investment boards and youth councils.
  • Fosters an atmosphere that will encourage high employee morale and result in the highest standards of performance and staff retention.
  • Provides necessary reports for the Department of Labor and corporate headquarters.
  • Keeps the Regional Director informed on all matters sufficient to warrant attention.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the center and also the safety of the students.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Prefer Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years' experience in Program Management and direction; experience working with youth.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
