OakLeaf Partners is seeking a dedicated job coach to train and support individuals with disabilities in learning new tasks and adapting to work environments in Northeast Ohio.

You will work closely with employers to analyze job tasks, teach necessary steps, and monitor progress, ensuring safety and production standards are met. The role requires flexibility and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience working with adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends based on client schedules.
  • Demonstrated reliability and dependability; professional appearance and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in job duties and social integration for clients placed into competitive jobs.
  • Perform task analyses at designated job sites with employers.
  • Teach clients the steps to complete job responsibilities and required accommodations.
  • Coordinate with agency staff to optimize services and problem-solve.
  • Maintain accurate verbal and written reports on client progress.
  • Train clients in vocational, social/interpersonal, safety, and work culture skills.
  • Determine when job coaching services will no longer be needed.
  • Maintain professional relationships with employers and clients.
  • Conduct follow-up with employers and clients as needed.
  • Document and report progress and deliverables to supervisors.

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Provide specialized on-the-job training and support to assist individuals with disabilities in learning and performing a new or changed job and adjusting to the work environment. This includes: task analysis for a particular job; teaching client workers the necessary steps required to complete job tasks; working side-by-side with the client workers to ensure all aspects of the job are done to the employer’s satisfaction; using appropriate learning strategies and identifying necessary accommodations.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provide assistance in the performance of job duties and social integration skills for clients placed into competitive jobs, as well as for clients in community-based work adjustment, situational assessment, and at OakLeaf Partners sites.2. In conjunction with the employer, perform task analyses at designated job sites to learn the specific tasks a client worker is expected to master.3. Teach clients the necessary steps required to complete job responsibilities.4. Use appropriate individualized learning strategies and identify any necessary accommodations5. Work side-by-side with the client to ensure all aspects of the job are done to the employer’s satisfaction, keeping in mind production requirements and safety concerns.6. Train clients in all skills necessary to perform the job including (but not limited to) training in vocational, social & interpersonal skills, travel, safety, problem solving, work culture, etc.7. As the worker masters the job tasks, provide input as to when job coaching services will no longer be needed.8. Regularly and candidly communicate with other Agency staff to coordinate services, share information and problem-solve.9. Maintain all required documentation of services, including detailed, accurate and timely verbal and written reports on client progress.10. Maintain professional relationships with all employers and clients.11. Conduct follow-up contact with employers and clients; this may include personal visits, phone and electronic contact, or mailed forms.12. Perform other reasonably related job duties as requested.REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience working with adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, preferably in a vocational setting, required.Great flexibility in accepting a wide variety of assignments at employment sites in the community, including, but not limited to clerical, manufacturing, guest services, food services, retail, and janitorial settings.Ability to work flexible shifts and hours, including evenings and weekends, based upon client work schedules. Demonstrated reliability and dependability.Uses standard English in oral and written communication.Has professional appearance, attention to detail, accuracy and ability to plan and organize work efficiently and independently.Ability to maintain a positive attitude toward clients, staff and agency personnel and to work cooperatively with employers.Ability to effectively use Microsoft Windows-based software and other computer applications to document work.If applicable at a particular worksite, physical capability to perform lifting (at least 50 lbs.), pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, crouching, stooping, kneeling and reaching.Must have reliable transportation, a willingness to travel throughout the Northeast Ohio region, and possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record per Agency insurance carrier’s requirements.
