Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Full-Time Job Coach in Mercer County, New Jersey. The Job Coach will supervise and train individuals with developmental disabilities to acquire the skills needed for specific tasks, work routines, and personal life activities critical to successful employment.

The role emphasizes hands-on teaching at the job site, analyzing requirements, documenting progress, and collaborating with families, residential staff, and professionals. Hourly rate is $17.00.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ full-time work experience in employment or related field.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to analyze a job and break it into manageable components.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation.
• Ability to present ideas and factual data clearly.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with individuals.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse registry and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals independent job skills and tasks with supports, including assistive technology.
• Work beside individuals at the job site, breaking requirements into teachable steps.
• Build a support network between the individual and community members.
• Communicate progress to the employer, family, residential staff, and other professionals.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non‑profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. We are now hiring a Full‑Time Job Coach in Mercer County, New Jersey. The Job Coach uses best practices and technology within a community‑based employment setting. The Job Coach will supervise and train individuals with developmental disabilities on how to acquire the skills needed to perform specific tasks, work routines, and personal life activities that are critical to successful employment.

Hourly Rate: $17.00

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals independent job skills, requirements utilizing job task analysis, job specific supports, including assistive technology and personal assistance
• Work side‑by‑side with individuals at the job site, analyzing the job requirements and breaking it into manageable components that can be taught to the individual
• Build a support network between the individual and community members
• Communicate individual’s progress to the employer and support people, including family, residential staff, and other professionals
• Accurately complete all documentation
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
