Job summary

CI&T is seeking a Senior/Principal Data Architect to lead the design of scalable, AI-ready data architectures for enterprise environments. You will translate complex business needs into robust architectures, guide Data Engineering and Analytics teams, and define patterns for modern data platforms.

You will drive initiatives using Lakehouse architectures across AWS/Azure and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, governance, and high performance.

Qualifications

• Advanced English – C1 or above, with strong communication skills in international environments.
• Extensive experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Databricks or Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge of AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse, data platforms, data integration, data modeling, and data governance.
• Experience designing end-to-end data solutions and translating business requirements into technical architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AI/Agentic approaches for Data, including AI Agents, Agentic Architecture, or Agentic Data solutions.
• Knowledge of SDD (Specification-Driven Development) and its application to software/data engineering.
• Strong architectural decision-making and technical leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure, high-performance data architectures aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Act as a technical reference and architecture leader for Data Engineering and Analytics teams.
• Define architecture patterns, standards, best practices, and tech strategies for modern data platforms.
• Design and evolve Lakehouse / Cloud Data Platform architectures using modern technologies.
• Lead architecture initiatives involving Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Design and implement data solutions across AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Define data integration, ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, security, and consumption patterns.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on scalability, performance, cost, security, and business value.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analytics teams, Product Managers, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams and support architectural decision-making.
• Contribute to AI-ready data architectures including AI Agents and Agentic approaches.
• Explore and apply Agentic AI patterns, AI Agents, and SDD in data engineering.
• Ensure architecture decisions follow enterprise standards for security, governance, quality, scalability, and maintainability.

We are looking for a Senior / Principal Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of modern, scalable, and AI-ready data architectures for complex enterprise environments.

This is a senior technical leadership role requiring strong expertise in Data Architecture, Cloud, modern data platforms, and emerging AI/Agentic approaches for Data. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures while providing technical direction and guidance to engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and define scalable, secure, high-performance data architectures aligned with business and technology strategies.
• Act as a technical reference and architecture leader for Data Engineering and Analytics teams.

• Ensure architecture decisions follow enterprise standards for security, governance, quality, scalability, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Databricks OR Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: AWS OR Azure.
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture patterns, including Lakehouse, data platforms, data integration, data modeling, and data governance.
• Experience designing end-to-end data solutions and translating business requirements into technical architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AI/Agentic approaches for Data , including AI Agents, Agentic Architecture, or Agentic Data solutions.
• Knowledge or practical experience with SDD (Specification-Driven Development) and its application to software/data engineering.
• Strong architectural decision-making and technical leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with both Databricks and Snowflake.
• Experience with both AWS and Azure.
• Experience implementing LLM-powered solutions, AI Agents, or Agentic workflows.
• Experience with frameworks and technologies related to Generative AI and Agentic AI.
