General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Systems & Network Operations Engineer for the Joint Multinational Simulation Center - Indo Pacific (JMSC-IP) in Hawaii.

The role focuses on delivering simple solutions to complex problems and ensuring secure, integrated IT infrastructure for the Pacific region. You will perform Tier I-II support, assist with OS upgrades, and help maintain a reliable network environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent
• 2+ years related experience; military experience preferred
• Certifications: Network+, CCNA, or SEC+ required
• Security Clearance: SECRET; ability to obtain TS/SCI
• Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAM I certification
• Excellent communication and ability to work with minimal guidance

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier I-II support for system and network operations including configuration, maintenance and monitoring of enterprise IT infrastructure
• Troubleshoot servers, network devices and operating systems
• Upgrade operating systems and design system enhancements
• Develop operating procedures and monitor ongoing operation of a complex network environment
• Document new or existing systems and test to meet user requirements
• Identify, analyze and resolve system and hardware problems
• Stay current with relevant technology and participate in special projects as required

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• Performs systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering
• Provides Tier I-II support for system and network operations to include configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of enterprise IT infrastructure
• Performs troubleshooting of servers, network devices, and operating systems
• Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements
• Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems
• Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements
• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operating/hardware system problems
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
• Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, OR the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
• Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience; military experience preferred
• Required Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques; Knowledge of the associated hardware, software and equipment
  • Provide network administration on configurations and perform diagnostics on the network infrastructure; voice / data systems architecture
  • Provide expertise in configuration, management and viability of primary switches, all remote nodes, and various communications devices
  • Coordinate requirements in conjunction with Network Enterprise Center (NEC), as necessary, to resolve failures of interfaces and networks
  • Develop operating procedures, monitors the ongoing operation of a complex network environment
• Certification: Network+, CCNA, or SEC+ is required
• Security Clearance Level: SECRET clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance
• Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAM I certification
  • Superb communication skills
  • Must be able to perform with minimal guidance
• Location: On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR

The likely salary range for this position is $83,300 - $112,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
