Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center in Florida is seeking an Urgent Care Technician to support frontline patient care. You will take vital signs, prepare patient records, and assist in phlebotomy and urgent care duties across multiple locations.

The role requires Paramedic or EMT certification with Florida licensure, strong communication, and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced clinical setting. Flexibility to travel between Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care locations is expected.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Program preferred.

Experience / Qualifications

• Paramedic or EMT required.
• Florida licensure required in respective modality.

• American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Provider.

Position Summary

• The Urgent Care Tech performs duties such as, but not limited to taking vital signs, prepares patient medical record for the provider.
• Proficient in Phlebotomy
• Proficient in Urgent Care duties.

• Prepares patient medical record for the provider.
• Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals.
• Computer data entry and workflow monitoring.
• Assesses environment to assure patient safety.
• Maintains chain of custody for forensic collections.

• Performs surveillance exams: hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKG.
• Performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening.
• Ensures accurate documentation.
• Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment.
• Ensures current credentials and /or certifications.
• This position will cross train to support the front desk staff and responsibilities.

• Ability to utilize more than one computer system for registration, patient test resulting and billing.
• Verifies insurance eligibility.
• Answers phone and faxes reports.

• Understands quality control and expected results for POCT tests performed.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.
