Job summary

Chord Energy is seeking a Joint Interest Billing (JIB) accountant to support the JIB/AR group in Downtown Houston. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and offers a salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities include billing, rebills, AR cash applications, journal entries, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, demonstrates strong analytical and Excel skills, and can operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while communicating

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly joint interest billing process.
• Process monthly rebills as required.
• Apply cash for accounts receivable payments.
• Resolve owner inquiries and provide timely responses.
• Prepare and record journal entries for JIB accounts.
• Prepare account reconciliations and support JI Audit requests; maintain SOX compliance.
• Assist with special projects or other accounting-related tasks.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with monthly joint interest billing process
• Process monthly rebills as required
• Apply cash for accounts receivable payments
• Resolve owner inquiries
• Prepare and record journal entries related to JIB accounts as required
• Prepare account reconciliations, complete JI Audit requests and maintain SOX compliance
• Assist with special projects or other accounting related assignments as requested

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related degree
• Strong analytical skills
