Summary
Under general supervision, operates standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform radiographic examinations used for diagnosis and treatment. Provides appropriate patient care and acts as the Radiation Safety Officer for the ASC. Employees in DSM Code 30795091 are responsible for managing and reviewing dosimeter badges quarterly to ensure radiation levels are ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) and below regulatory limits Documents and retains dates of dosimeter checks and levels of exposure. Pursues corrective action as needed and reports to the ASC Nurse Administrator. Ensures proper maintenance and annual inspection/x-ray of lead aprons is completed.
Education:
Work requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program. Registered or registry eligible. Must be licensed by State of Maryland Board of Physicians Quality Assurance as a Medical Radiation Technologist.
Work Experience:
One year of diagnostic radiology experience required.
