Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. seeks a Base Supervisor for JeffSTAT to oversee a remote base, supervise staff and ensure efficient coverage for clinical shifts on helicopters and ambulances.

The ideal candidate has 2 years as a flight nurse and 3 years in critical care, with strong leadership, organization, and customer-service skills. Prior supervisory experience is preferred and the role emphasizes quality improvement and equipment coordination.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience as a flight nurse in an established flight program
• Three (3) years experience as a critical care nurse (ICU, CCU, ER)
• Strong organizational, inter-personal, and customer service skills
• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational performance of JeffSTAT base and supervise base staff
• Coordinate coverage for sick personnel and ensure shift readiness
• Manage charting system at base, QA and compliance with standards
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and PI audits
• Coordinate repair of damaged medical equipment with vendors
• Interact with staff and visitors in line with hospital values

Number of Positions In Requisition1Job DetailsFull time 36 hours/week rotating shiftsThe Base Supervisor is primarily responsible for the operational oversight of one of JeffSTAT’s remote bases. This includes supervising the staff assigned to the base to ensure they complete assigned duties and responsibilities effectively. The Base Supervisor works with other members of JeffSTAT’s management team to ensure the broader program goals and objectives are met. The Base Supervisor is scheduled for clinical shifts on the helicopters and ground ambulances. He or she is responsible for completing the duties and responsibilities listed in the critical care transport nurse job description during scheduled clinical shifts.Completes scheduled air and gound clinical shifts; assists the Operations Manager and Director with the last minute coverage of JeffSTAT personnel who are sick and cannot report to workManages all aspects of the Air Methods charting system at the assigned base, including troubleshooting, quality assurance, and compliance with corporate standards.Participates in performance improvement initiatives, including the data collection processes and retrospective chart reviews.
