Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Senior Java SRE Tech Lead to ensure scalability and reliability of core transaction systems. You will design and implement Java-based API services, leverage cloud platforms, and champion observability through ELK Stack and Dynatrace.

The role focuses on availability, integration challenges, and cross-team collaboration to deliver resilient systems for high-throughput platforms.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience with Java-based API services and public cloud deployments (AWS or equivalent).
• Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering concepts, including observability and incident management.
• Ability to design, implement, and optimize cloud-native architectures for high-throughput enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, extend, and maintain robust API services using Java.
• Apply SRE principles to ensure availability, performance, and reliability of core systems.
• Implement observability tooling with ELK Stack and Dynatrace for proactive health monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive incident response and post-mortems.
• Tune and optimize PostgreSQL data persistence and database interactions.
• Lead efforts to improve system design for resilience and scalability.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking a Senior Java SRE Tech Lead within the Engineering Department reporting to the Director of Reliability Engineering to ensure optimal scalability and reliability for core transaction systems. This role solves complex availability, observability, and integration challenges for high-throughput enterprise platforms.

• API Development and Integration | AWS or Other Public Cloud Platform
• Design, develop, and maintain robust API services and integrations using Java while applying strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
• Build, monitor, and optimize cloud-native architectures across AWS or other public cloud environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement and manage comprehensive observability solutions leveraging ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and Dynatrace for proactive system health monitoring.
• Troubleshoot, tune, and manage database interactions and data persistence layers utilizing PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional software engineering and infrastructure teams to drive incident management, root cause analysis, and resilient system design.
