Job Description

As a Software Engineer at the Aurora Software department, you will work on an Agile team supporting two programs with a singular baseline. You will execute 2‑week sprints for 3‑month increment deliveries, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining robust Java applications that meet business requirements and deliver high‑performance, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications in an Agile environment.
• Participate in 2‑week sprints and 3‑month increments.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and microservices with business logic.
• Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases to support application data needs.
• Use Git for version control and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Follow Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Engage in peer review processes and iterative feature development.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications
  • Level2: Bachelor’s degree in science with 2+ years of software development experience; or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Level3: Bachelor’s degree in science with 5+ years of software development experience; or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and Java programming.
  • Proficiency with Git and platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Demonstrated success with Agile processes.
  • Experience integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Firm understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Understanding of peer review processes and feature iterations.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level salary range: $91,800.00 – $137,600.00.
Secondary Level salary range: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00.
