Job summary

Saab Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team working on FAA-related tools.

You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle and collaborate with system engineering colleagues to deliver robust software solutions. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and at least 3 years of experience in software development, with strong PostgreSQL and Linux skills and experience using Eclipse

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of related experience required.
• Relational database experience, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Strong LINUX environment skills including command line and scripting tools.
• Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills.
• Experience with Integrated Development Environments (e.g. Eclipse, IntelliJ).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Abilty to travel (<10% domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Work alongside System Engineering Team and other Software Engineers to improve tools used within the FAA.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
