Job summary

SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) BU seeks a JAVA Software Engineer for on-site work in Boulder, CO. You will perform microservice development in Java, C++, or Python, contributing to full-stack web applications and cloud-based environments.

Requires TS/SCI clearance and strong Java skills. Position is 5 days on-site in Boulder with a focus on agile methodologies, mentoring, and collaboration across disciplines.

The SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) Business Unit (BU) is on the ground floor across the future remote sensing ecosystem for all orbital regimes (LEO, MEO, HEO, and GEO). We build, integrate, and operationally support our customers’ emerging space-ground systems to include real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. SMX has an immediate opportunity for a JAVA Software Engineer Perform microservice software development using Java, C++, and/or Python in an Agile SW Development paradigm The successful candidate will interface with and help build full stack web applications using Java, C++, Python, and cloud technologies.

Position location is at customer’s location, on-site in Boulder, CO, 5 days per week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with the following software development lifecycle concepts: Agile, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD) making use of Gitlab, test automation, and other tools.
• Assist in the definition and implementation of commercial cloud-based development environment configurations
• Perform unit-level software testing for all assigned features and support integration testing as applicable to those features
• Provide leadership / mentorship of technical teams
• Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment with both internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment
• Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers, and review work products at multiple levels Develop / maintain training materials
