Job summary

Altimetrik is seeking an experienced Java professional to design and deliver cloud-native, microservices-based architectures. You will own end-to-end development, lead code reviews, and drive testing strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A strong background in Oracle SQL and modern design principles is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience (J2EE).
• Experience with microservices architectures and REST APIs.
• Proficient in Oracle SQL and database querying.
• Cloud-native application development on AWS or Azure; PCF experience preferred.
• Familiarity with modern design principles: SOLID, DRY, SRP.
• Hands-on with NiFi, NATS, Kafka, Zookeeper, Splunk, Redis, Cassandra and Oracle.
• Strong leadership, code reviews, test strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Microservices and REST API Proficiency: Skilled in developing web services, particularly microservices architectures, and REST APIs. This indicates a strong understanding of how to build, scale, and maintain distributed systems effectively.
• Database and SQL Skills: Proficient in Oracle Database, with expertise in writing complex SQL queries. This level of database knowledge is crucial for data-heavy applications and backend services.
• Cloud-Native and Platform Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure, as well as experience with deploying cloud-native applications. Knowledge of tools like PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) demonstrates the candidate’s ability to work within cloud environments effectively.
