Job summary

Heitmeyer Consulting is seeking a Java Software Engineer in the Columbus, OH area to help build and support consumer payment origination and processing segments. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and Google Cloud Platform.

Experience with enterprise integration, event-driven architectures, Kafka, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines is highly desirable; pairing across applications will be needed as they cross-develop with peers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, building, testing RESTful APIs and microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong background in enterprise integration and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and DevOps/CI-CD tooling such as Jenkins and Maven.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop scalable services that integrate data and functionality across enterprise systems.
• Analyze requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Maven and related DevOps tools.
• Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.

Heitmeyer Consulting is currently seeking a Java Software Engineer for an opportunity with one of our financial services clients. The person needs to live in the Columbus, OH area. Can not use C2C or agencies for this.

The Java Software Engineer will help build and support the consumer payment origination and processing segment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and modern software engineering practices. Experience with enterprise integration, event-driven architectures, Kafka, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines is highly desirable. Additionally, our client is looking for a candidate who has worked on any cloud platform and has developed using pairing as they’ll cross-develop applications with a peer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop scalable and reusable application services that integrate data and functionality across enterprise systems.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
