Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Automation Tester (Java & Selenium) to ensure quality and performance of banking applications. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests, perform API testing, and contribute to reusable frameworks. The role is hybrid with 3 days onsite in Raleigh, NC and 2 days remote.

Collaborate with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable software and drive quality across the lifecycle. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of software testing and QA experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience with manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Strong API testing experience using industry-standard tools.
• Experience creating and executing test plans, cases, scripts, and defect reports.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure quality and stability.
• Conduct API testing to validate functionality and system integrations.
• Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks and testing assets.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
• Participate in requirements reviews and provide quality-focused feedback during development.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and tech teams to ensure testing coverage.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, automation best practices, and quality standards.
• Support release validation activities and production readiness testing.
