Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Java Microservices Architect to design, develop, and lead the implementation of highly scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, cloud technologies, and distributed systems, along with the ability to provide technical architecture and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, highly available Java-based microservices architectures.
- Define technical architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
- Lead the modernization of monolithic applications into microservices-based architectures.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and distributed services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Work closely with engineering, product, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver enterprise solutions.
- Design solutions for scalability, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Provide technical leadership and conduct architecture/design reviews.
- Implement messaging and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka or similar platforms.
- Develop cloud-native applications and leverage services across AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Establish CI/CD practices and integrate automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide root-cause analysis.
- Mentor senior developers and provide technical guidance across development teams.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, governance, and architectural standards.
Must-Have Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Java software development and enterprise application architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API design, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing highly scalable and resilient enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and Object-Oriented Design.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2/JWT.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS cloud architecture and cloud-native services.
- Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or other NoSQL technologies.
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Knowledge of Observability/APM tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Knowledge of system design, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance engineering.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Financial services, banking, or other highly regulated enterprise experience is a plus.
