Job Overview:

GMS (Grid and Market Solutions) RIOO (Resource Integration and Ongoing Operations) software development team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Angular Developer along with strong experience in JAVA Restful API development to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining complex web applications and services that support our critical operations. This role requires a deep understanding and expertise of front-end (Angular) and back-end technologies (Java, Oracle Database), excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

This position will report to the Supervisor/Manager of GMS RIOO team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable web applications using Angular framework and JAVA Restful APIs.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
3. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications by identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and bugs.
4. Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
5. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring high code quality.
6. Stay updated and use the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve development processes and methodologies.
7. Work closely with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance of all developed solutions.
8. Contribute to the documentation of technical specifications, system architecture, and operational procedures.
9. Design, develop, test and deploy RESTFUL APIs using Java and frameworks like Hibernate and frontend functionality using Angular framework.
10. Work with Databases (Oracle Database) to save/retrieve, display and manage data.
11. Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, view and triggers.
12. Integrate Java backend services with frontend Angular application.
13. Handle authentication, authorization and security aspects of application.
14. Write/modify materialized views and Database triggers as per the requirements.
15. Ensure performance of the application with the functionality being delivered.

Skills/Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 8 years of full-stack application development experience using Angular and Java technologies.
3. 5+ years of professional and strong hands-on experience in front-end development using Angular (version 11 or higher).
4. 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in JAVA application development using Spring and Hibernate, including building RESTful services using JAVA (version 8 or higher) and Hibernate framework.
5. Solid understanding of web application architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
6. Experience with Front End state management libraries, preferably NgRx.
7. Experience with Oracle databases and proficiency in PL/SQL.
8. Experience with version control systems such as Git.
9. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of cloud platforms and services.
2. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
3. Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks.
4. Understanding of security principles and best practices in web application development.
