Responsibilities

• Manage all technology standards across the functional area, ensuring development, understanding, and adherence worldwide.
• Set goals within the functional area that are delivered to appropriate Operations & Technology organizations.
• Contribute to the IT Project Leadership function to harmonize with overall business and technology objectives and ensure teams within the functional area are adequately staffed and possess the required skill sets.
• Provide an environment where subject‑matter experts can work efficiently and deliver effectively.
• Manage execution of IT strategy and roadmap for the assigned technology area.
• Apply an in‑depth understanding of engineering concepts and procedures, and basic knowledge of related elements in other areas.
• Train and coach team members, conduct performance management activities, monitor quantity and quality of work, and address development needs for assigned personnel.
• Make evaluative judgments based on information analysis in complex or unique situations, utilizing multiple information sources.
• Negotiate with senior leaders across functions and communicate with external parties.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of strong experience in application development or systems analysis roles.
• Strong experience architecting highly scalable enterprise applications.
• Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications; experience managing and implementing successful projects.
• Proven engineering experience building robust, scalable, and maintainable applications in the Capital Markets Technology industry.
• Build, deploy, and test application components in a development environment during the implementation phase, working with all layers of the application stack.
• Work proactively and independently to address project requirements, articulating issues and challenges with sufficient lead time to address delivery risks.
• Conduct code reviews, test case reviews, and ensure code meets requirements; influence and negotiate with senior technical leaders from partner teams of software engineers, DevOps, and production support staff to deliver robust software solutions; ensure the team collaborates effectively across functions.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Experience working in Financial Services or a large, complex, and/or global environment; consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication; comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities, and related reporting to identify best practices.
• Demonstrated analytic and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.

Must have Technical Skills

• 9+ years of strong experience in full‑stack development using React, Typescript, Node.js, stylesheets, and Java/JVM‑based languages such as Java and Kotlin, and microservices.
• Strong experience in API development and its ecosystems.
• Hands‑on experience with React, JavaScript, Java, Spring, Spring Cloud, Spring Data JPA, Spring Boot microservices.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills using debuggers, logs, etc.; strong understanding of test‑driven development using Jest, Cypress, JavaScript, JUnit, and Mockito.
• Experience with public clouds such as AWS and GCP is advantageous.
• Experience with OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Tekton, UDeploy, Harness, NPM, Maven, and Gradle.
• Implement unit testing and TDD to ensure software quality and maintainability.
• Proficiency in SQL databases, MongoDB, and Oracle (preferred).

Nice to have

• Experience on observability and monitoring tech stack.
• Understanding of Gen AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Co‑Pilot and Devin; understanding middleware like Tibco RV, EMS, Solace, Kafka, etc.
• Understanding of Python and Gen AI is a plus.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
