Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer II in New York to join a fast-moving agile team within the Business Banking Tech division. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot secure software components, leveraging AI-assisted tools and modern SDLC practices.

The role emphasizes building scalable, high-quality code across the stack using React.js and Java/Spring Boot, with exposure to microservices and CI/CD. Collaboration with stakeholders and secure coding are essential.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
• Proficient in designing and developing full-stack web applications using technologies such as React.js and Java/Spring Boot, with experience applying microservices architecture patterns.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and testing
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities to improve value
• Performs technical troubleshooting to address basic complexity problems
• Gathers and analyzes large data sets to identify problems and inform decisions for secure, stable development
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for secure code and systems
