Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Technology Consultant 2 in Richardson, TX to design, develop, and review Java-based applications within a microservices environment. You will participate in architecture discussions and collaborate with product owners, QA, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relocation may be needed, and you will operate in an Agile team with strong emphasis on coding practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and reviewing software applications and participating in system design discussions.
• Experience with SQL databases and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

Technology Consultant 2: Responsibilities

• Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
• Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects

Required Skill and Experience

experience in Java, Springboot, Microservices, SQL, Unix (good to have)

• Design, develop, and review applications using Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision making.
• Ensure best practices are followed for coding standards, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver end to end solutions.
• Oversee code reviews, technical discussions, and problem resolutions.
• Work with SQL databases for data modeling, queries, and performance tuning.
• Support production issues and drive root cause analysis and fixes.
• Manage task allocation, sprint planning, and progress tracking in an Agile environment."

Preferred Skill and Experience

Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and environments."

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
