Job summary

Infosys Limited in the United States seeks a Technology Consultant 2 to contribute across the full software lifecycle, from requirements elicitation to implementation.

You will work on Java-based applications, participate in design discussions, and ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and adaptability to evolving digital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required; relocation/travel may be needed.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship is required; Infosys cannot sponsor.
  • End-to-end SDLC experience with Java-based applications.
  • Familiarity with different design and architectural patterns.
  • Skill for writing reusable Java libraries.
  • Knowhow of Java concurrency patterns.
  • Basic Understanding of MVC (Model‑View‑Controller) Pattern, JDBC, and RESTful web services.
  • Experience in working with popular web application frameworks like Play and Spark.
  • Relevant Knowledge of Java GUI frameworks like Swing, SWT, AWT according to project requirements.
  • Ability to write clean, readable Java code.
  • Basic knowhow of class loading mechanism in Java.
  • Experience in handling external and embedded databases.
  • Understanding basic design principles behind a scalable application.
  • Design, develop, and maintain AS400 applications. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Modify and enhance existing AS400 programs.

In the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

  • Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
  • Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
  • Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
  • Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
  • Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
  • Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
