Job summary

Astir IT Solutions, Inc. seeks a Java developer with strong backend experience in Java 8, Spring Boot, and REST APIs to join a rail industry-focused team in the United States. The role requires frontend work with Angular 8, extensive database design/optimization, and system integration using JMS, Kafka, and GIS tech.

Railroad experience is a must. The candidate will mentor juniors, participate in code reviews, and help shape scalable, reliable enterprise applications across Java and database

Qualifications

• Must have Railroad experience.
• Strong Java backend experience with Spring ecosystem.
• Frontend development with Angular 8 and REST API exposure.
• Database design and optimization for SQL/Oracle.
• Messaging and streaming experience with Kafka or equivalent.

• Frameworks & Databases: Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate (or proficiency in JSF / Struts), MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle Database (very strong skills essential)
• Big Data & Messaging: Apache Spark, Kafka (or other messaging services)
