Job summary

Advanced Tech Placement in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join a collaborative engineering team supporting a large-scale application environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on contributor who can troubleshoot issues, dive into the code, and deliver solutions with minimal direction.

You will develop in a Java-based environment, work on production issues, fix bugs, and enhance services, collaborating with Client Services and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience with Java/Spring or Spring Boot application development.
• Strong production/application troubleshooting and debugging skills, including diagnosing and fixing bugs.
• Demonstrated ability to break down complex technical problems, determine root causes, and implement solutions with minimal direction.
• Experience with databases and SQL as part of development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, or application integrations.
• AI knowledge and/or practical experience, including familiarity with AI-assisted software development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-directed and proactive approach with ownership and accountability.
• Ability to adapt and operate in a rapidly changing technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and support Java-based applications.
• Independently investigate application and production issues, identify root causes, modify code, and implement solutions.
• Own bugs, enhancements, and technical service requests from investigation to resolution.
• Work effectively with minimal technical guidance and determine next steps.
• Partner with Client Services, engineering teams, and stakeholders to understand issues and develop solutions.
• Clearly explain technical problems, findings, and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support applications and services operating within cloud-based environments.
• Work with databases, APIs, and application integrations as part of development and troubleshooting.
• Apply AI knowledge and AI-assisted development tools to coding and testing.
