Job summary

Covetus in Charlotte, NC is seeking a senior Java developer with strong Docker, MongoDB and CockroachDB expertise to build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs in a cloud-native environment. You will contribute to class-loading, JVM tuning, and robust CI/CD pipelines while writing clean, maintainable Java code.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of Java experience with Spring MVC/Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, and familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong background in Spring MVC/Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Hands-on with microservices architecture and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and container orchestration.
• Proficient in relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CockroachDB).
• Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean code.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Familiar with build tools (Maven/Gradle/Ant) and CI/CD concepts.

Java developer with Docker Mongo DB / Cockroach DB

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Rest API, microservices, Kafka, Cloud, Kubernetes, MongoDB/Cockroach DB, Docker /OpenShift.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, Agile way of working and CI/CD concets.
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Skill for writing reusable Java libraries
• Knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java
• Familiarity with concepts of Spring Boot, Rest API, Micro service Architecture
• Knack for writing clean, readable Java code.
• working with Relational (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Understanding of the class loading mechanism in Java
• Understanding of JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
