Job summary

Infosys Limited is seeking a Technology Consultant 2 in Austin, TX to drive backend development across the SDLC. You will contribute to requirements, design decisions, and coding while focusing on stability and quality of software releases.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement REST services using Java, leverage reactive frameworks, and work with MongoDB/Oracle databases. Some travel or relocation may be required as projects scale in the US.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java Reactive programming and Spring Boot in production systems.
• Proficient in designing REST APIs with Java.
• Experience writing queries for MongoDB or Oracle databases.
• Optional experience with Kafka messaging systems.
• Willingness to relocate or travel as needed in the US.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to requirements elicitation by documenting assigned parts of business requirements.
• Facilitate software design discussions and document design decisions for the development team.
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates while maintaining stability.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain code repositories.
• Implement test strategies, analyze results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold quality standards.
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks for new software.
• Resolve production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities.

In the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
• Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects

Required Skill and Experience

• Experience in Java Reactive programming
• Experience in Spring Boot.
• Experience in writing queries in Mongo DB or Oracle
• Experience (optional) in messaging solutions like Kafka
• Experience in developing REST Services using Java

Preferred Skill and Experience

• Experience in developing code using reactive framework.
• experience in Project life cycle activities on development, maintenance and production support.
• Experience in Generative AI- Prompt Engineering
• Experience in Design and architecture review.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Optimizing code for performance for java, oracle and Mongo DB
• Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
