ManpowerGroup is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the thinkorswim Performance Engineering team in Southlake, TX. The role focuses on latency, scalability, reliability, and resiliency for a Java-based trading platform.

Expect independent planning and delivery of performance initiatives, with tooling, analysis, and cross-team collaboration. You will work with Splunk and Grafana to monitor performance, and a contract-to-hire arrangement with onsite presence four days per week.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• 5+ years of Java and J2EE development experience including Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• 5+ years of distributed systems, real-time processing, relational databases, and messaging systems.
• Linux background with shell scripting experience.
• Strong diagnostic skills with JVM troubleshooting and concurrency understanding.

Responsabilidades

• Code performance test scripts in Core Java to support performance and resiliency initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Unix shell and Python-based framework components used for performance testing.
• Create custom tooling, including mock services, and maintain a tool repository to support repeatable test execution.
• Gather and analyze performance requirements with project owners and translate findings into code, configuration, capacity, and design recommendations.
• Monitor application behavior during tests and production support, identify code-level bottlenecks.

Our client is seeking a Java Developer - Senior to join the thinkorswim® Performance Engineering team. As a Java Developer - Senior, I will independently plan and deliver performance and resiliency initiatives for a Java-based trading platform, with a focus on latency, scalability, reliability, and resiliency. I’ll build workloads and tools, identify code and system bottlenecks, and recommend improvements across client, server, gateway, infrastructure, and cloud environments.

Job Title: Java Developer - Senior

Location: Southlake, TX (Ann Arbor, MI is a backup option)

Pay Range: $65-$68/hr

What's the Job?

• Code performance test scripts in Core Java to support performance and resiliency initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Unix shell and Python-based framework components used for performance testing.

• Gather and analyze performance requirements with project owners and stakeholders, then translate findings into actionable code, configuration, capacity, and design recommendations.
• Monitor application behavior during test runs and production support activities, analyze results, and identify code-level performance bottlenecks.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• 5+ years of Java and J2EE (client and server side) development experience, including Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• 5+ years of experience with distributed systems/software, real-time processing, relational database systems, and messaging systems.
• Linux background with experience in shell scripting.
• Strong diagnostic skills, including troubleshooting JVM issues (e.g., thread dumps, garbage collection, and memory management) and deep understanding of concurrency and multi-threading.
