Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join a team building a new technology platform focused on secure, scalable data sharing. The role centers on server-side design and implementing robust APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot in a cloud environment.

You will contribute to shaping the backend architecture, collaborate with engineers and product teams, and help deliver high-volume, reliable services with strong emphasis on cloud technologies and Cosmos DB.

Qualifications

• Senior-level software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot.
• Strong background developing microservices.
• Cosmos DB experience is required.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop cloud-based services supporting a new consumer data-sharing platform.
• Work extensively with Cosmos DB for data storage and management.
• Develop applications within a cloud environment, with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on system design and technical decisions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested production code.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

A leading data and analytics organization is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to join a team building a new technology platform designed to improve how applications communicate with consumers and enable secure, seamless data sharing.

This is a highly backend-focused opportunity for an experienced engineer who is comfortable designing and developing scalable, cloud-based services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Cosmos DB, and cloud technologies, with Azure experience being highly preferred. The Role As a Senior Backend Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of a new product from the ground up. You will work closely with other software engineers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders to build reliable APIs and distributed services capable of supporting high-volume applications.

This role is 100% backend development, so candidates should have a strong track record building server-side applications and microservices rather than primarily focusing on frontend development.
