Job summary

Citi is seeking a Java Developer for Equity Finance Post Trade in Pune. This hybrid role requires strong Java skills and experience in building business solutions with agile delivery across geographies.

You will engineer trading platform capabilities, perform code reviews, and drive high-impact projects while aligning with architecture standards and risk controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role.
• Experience in system analysis and in programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Exposure to AI solutions to accelerate development.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Flexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Code review of development conducted by others.
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilise advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What We Do / The Team
The Equity Finance Technology team are seeking a development role for the Post Trade platform, located in Pune. The role requires working with technologists across geographical locations and executing on the technical delivery. This role requires strong expertise in Java and the ability to work with users in building business solutions through agile delivery.

Key Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
• Experience in system analysis and in programming of software applications

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

Technical Skills:

• Extensive development experience
• Technical expertise in Java, Kafka, SQL, Git and JMS is a must have.
• Fluency in modern CI/CD pipeline and cloud environment
• Experience in performing QA, TDD and BDD practices
• Proven ability to work in high pressure environment
• Flexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zones
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
• Familiarity with agile methodologies

Any Beneficial / Nice to Have Skills and Experiences:

• Knowledge of Equity Finance / Securities Lending is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
