Context

As a JAVA Developer consultant, you will work for our client to enhance Electronic Market Systems in Finance (front office/trading side).

The bank has a presence in 80 countries with nearly 200,000 employees, including more than 150,000 in Europe. It ranks highly in its three core activities: Retail Banking, Investment Solutions, and Corporate & Investment Banking.

The Development team operates as part of a Global Pricing and Electronic Markets Technology team to develop systems used for trading activities. It is a Front Office facing team working directly with Traders and Business Management to provide high-quality solutions both locally and as part of the platforms. The role is initially contractual, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop pricing and electronic markets distributed applications as a member of a global development team.
2. Collaborate with traders, developers, business analysts, and vendors to determine functional requirements and integration plans for applications.
3. Provide second-line support for applications used by front-office users.

Experience

Must-have:

• Proven core Java skills and knowledge.
• Experience working in a front office trading environment.
• Ability to design and develop scalable, maintainable, and supportable solutions.
• Strong understanding of the Java memory model and multi-threading development.
• Knowledge of SDLC and experience working on large software development projects.
• Ability to consider system dependencies, corner cases, and change impacts to provide robust solutions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a global team.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of Interest Rate Products (Treasuries, IR Swaps, etc.) and their trading lifecycle.
• Experience at a large global investment bank, especially in a Fixed Income Front Office environment.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Experience with ION Trading Services (Connectivity, STP, RFQ, VMO, MMI).
• Knowledge of TIBCO Rendezvous.
