Position Overview

Seeking a Java Developer to support application development and production support activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will focus heavily on application support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancements across existing and legacy applications. The ideal candidate will be an independent problem solver who can investigate issues, understand unfamiliar code, troubleshoot application/database problems, and work effectively with limited documentation. This is a support-heavy role, with an approximate 80% application support / 20% development split.

• Has recent, hands-on Java 8 production experience

• Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Can understand business requirements and trace issues through application code
• Is comfortable working in a less-structured environment
• Can work across both backend and frontend/application logic
• Has strong production support and incident troubleshooting experience
• Is comfortable communicating directly with business users
• Is willing to participate in the required on-call rotation

Work Environment

The position supports applications used within a manufacturing/factory environment and involves working with a combination of modernized and legacy systems. The team operates in a less formal, waterfall-oriented environment rather than a traditional Agile/Scrum model.
