Job summary

ITCON Services in Washington DC is seeking a Java Developer for a full-time, salaried role. You'll participate in the full lifecycle of projects, designing and building scalable UI and backend components.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with J2EE, Spring, React or Angular, and modern web technologies, plus the ability to mentor junior staff and take ownership of tasks. A Public Trust clearance and US citizenship or GC are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required and able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive hands-on experience with J2EE, Struts2, Spring, and web technologies.
• Proficiency with React or Angular and multiple frameworks such as JPA/Hibernate and SOA.
• Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions and documentation.
• Experience with multiple app servers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of UX principles and Section 508 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full lifecycle projects by designing and developing UI and applications.
• Conduct unit testing to ensure high quality, bug-free code.
• Decompose business and system architecture for multi-team development.
• Take 100% ownership of assigned tasks and mentor junior staff.

Developer will participate in the full life cycle of agile or waterfall projects by designing and developing user interfaces and applications. They will need to be skilled in conducting unit testing to ensure high quality bug free code. Additional duties include decomposing business and system architecture to support clean-interface multi-team development. The Java Developer will need to have a strong understanding of the business problem statement, user stories, and technical constraints. To join our team, the Java Developer position will be a 100% hands-on role and will support both company and project team endeavors.

This opening is for a full-time salaried position located in Washington DC.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of relevant work experience
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
• Minimum 5 years of experience with J2EE, Apache Struts2 framework, Spring Framework, jQuery JavaScript, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Java Development Kit, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, JSP, Microsoft SQL Server, jQuery, Bootstrap, Windows Server, SiteMinder, WebSphere, Maven, Git/Bitbucket, J2EE security, CI/CD
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience with React or Angular
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience with two or more of the following frameworks/technologies: JPA/Hibernate, SOA and web service technologies, Struts framework, Spring Framework, and web development (HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS, Custom Tags)
• Ability to contribute to design and architecture discussions
• Experience in creating design/technical documentation
• Experience in different application servers
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology and tools (such as Version One, Rally, or JIRA)
• Extensive knowledge of UX principles, design patterns, application and integration architectures
• Section 508 compliance requirements with web applications
