Position: Java Developer

Location: Oakland, CA (Onsite with hybrid mode flexibility)

Duration: 1 Year

Mandatory skills: Java, Spring Boot Microservices RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, SDLC, Agile methodologies, and Microsoft Azure cloud services

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications using Java and Microservices Architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of education or degree.
• Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 17+) is required, including Object-Oriented Programming, Collections Framework, Multithreading and Concurrency, Exception Handling, and JVM Performance Tuning.
• Extensive experience developing Spring Boot Microservices is required. Hands-on experience with REST APIs, and Microservices Architecture is required.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling, including database schema design, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, SQL performance tuning, and query optimization is required.
• Ability to independently design and develop enterprise-grade solutions, contribute to modernization initiatives, and drive continuous improvements in performance, scalability, and reliability is required. Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems is required.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills are required.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices is required.
• Experience designing and developing highly scalable and secure applications and products.
• Experience developing and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Azure services such as Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Application Insights, and Azure DevOps is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments is a plus.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a plus.
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated enterprise environments is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support mission-critical production environments.
• Ability to understand business plans and apply that information to the development of an IT business case.
• Anticipates problems, resistance, or likely objections and takes action to resolve them.
