Job Description

The successful candidate will participate in a faced-paced, dynamic team environment supporting a U.S. Government contract that provides personnel security management to DOD.

• The position involves the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of new and existing applications, in both a development and a production environment.
• The candidate will need strong design, analysis and communication skills.
• The hire will be Responsible for the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of software applications in a federal government personnel security product.
• Act as a developer on Web enabled J2EE type applications, coding, debugging, and testing.
• Follows standards based software development/engineering processes and procedures, such as CMMI, and delivers high quality components/products.
• Will also need to provide clear and timely status to management as required.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and work independently with minimum management oversight.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance (based on SSBI investigation)
• Entry-level JAVA developer with 1-2 years experience
• Experience with Java (J2SE and J2EE), JSP/servlet, JDBC, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML
• Experience with UNIX
• Knowledge of WebLogic and relational databases is a plus
• Must have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Must be able to effectively articulate complex, technical concepts to on-site clients, non-technical management and co-contractors
• Must be a team player
• Understanding of application development lifecycle processes
• Common office software skills (Word, Excel, Visio)
• Must have a strong motivation to make a difference
• Familiarity with Department of Defense personnel security issues is a plus
