• Hands-on full-stack Java experience with React and large data volumes.

• Experience building scalable, high-performance data platforms.
• Knowledge of containerized deployments and cloud-native architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile development and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Pinot/Redis and relational/document databases.
• Strong Linux/Unix and scripting skills.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues and lead multiple initiatives.
• 8+ years of production-grade, large-scale Java backend and distributed systems experience.
• Financial services experience, Market Risk or FinTech.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on technical design and implementation of key components of our Market Risk platform.
• Communicate with product leads across our technology organization and identify improvements.
• Build scalable, high-performance computing solutions for market risk calculations and analysis.
• Implement containerized deployments and integrate Snowflake for cloud-based processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Optimize risk data pipelines to improve efficiency and response times.
• Work with Risk, Model Governance, and Compliance to implement regulatory requirements in market risk tech.
• Contribute to timely, efficient product delivery in an Agile environment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers on the squad.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or equivalent university education and experience; a masters degree is preferred.
• Expert-level knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Hands-on full-stack Java experience with React and large data volumes.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Extensive experience building highly scalable, high-performance platforms for data computation and processing.
• Knowledge of containerized deployments and cloud-native architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile development and DevOps best practices.
• Experience with caching technologies such as Pinot or Redis, and with relational and/or document-oriented databases.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
• Ability to turn business and analytical needs into efficient technical solutions.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues, influence technical direction, and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Typically, 8 or more years of relevant experience developing production-grade, large-scale systems, including substantial Java backend development and distributed-systems design.
• Financial services experience, particularly in Market Risk or FinTech.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, initiative, and the ability to drive projects independently.
• Ability to align technology with business objectives and regulatory needs.
