Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Technology Consultant 2 in Austin, TX to lead design, development, and integration of cloud-native solutions. You will collaborate with architects, DevOps, and product owners to deliver secure, scalable enterprise applications.

Responsibilities include eliciting requirements, guiding design decisions, coding, tests, reviews, and production issue resolution. Strong emphasis on Java, Spring, Kubernetes, Docker, and data integration.

Qualifications

• Cloud Platform Development using Java 21/25, Spring Boot, WebFlux.
• Kubernetes administration for multi-region deployments, including HPA and workload optimization.
• Containerization with Docker in cloud-native development.
• API development with secure, scalable APIs and gateway tech.
• Data integration with Oracle, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Redis, Kafka.

In the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
• Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects

Required Skill and Experience

• Cloud Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain cloud‑native applications using Java 21/25, Spring Boot, and Spring WebFlux.
• Kubernetes Administration: Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes, including multi‑region cluster deployments, HPA configuration, pod affinity, and workload optimization.
• Containerization: Build, package, and maintain Docker containers following cloud‑native development best practices.
• API Development: Develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs while implementing ingress, egress, API gateway, routing, authentication, authorization, and traffic management using Envoy, Contour, Netty, or Jetty.
• Data Integration: Design and develop solutions utilizing Oracle, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Redis, and Kafka to support scalable, distributed enterprise applications.
• GitOps & CI/CD: Implement automated deployment pipelines using GitOps methodologies with Helm, Kustomize, Rio, Maven, and Gradle.
• Observability: Build comprehensive monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing solutions using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry to improve system visibility and operational excellence.
• Performance Engineering: Conduct load, stress, and capacity testing using JMeter while identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Collaboration: Partner with architects, DevOps engineers, platform teams, and product owners to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise solutions.
• Code Quality: Develop clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code while participating in peer reviews and following software engineering best practices.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging cloud‑native technologies, Kubernetes ecosystem advancements, Java innovations, and enterprise platform best practices.

Preferred Skill and Experience

• Experience working with enterprise Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS or similar managed Kubernetes services.
• Experience designing highly available, multi‑region cloud‑native architectures.
• Strong understanding of reactive microservices architecture and asynchronous application design.
• Experience optimizing application performance, scalability, and resiliency for high‑volume enterprise workloads.
• Familiarity with cloud networking, service mesh technologies, and zero‑trust security models.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation and platform engineering best practices.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
